Sunday Service 10:30am | 880 Life Drive, Christiansburg, VA 24073  540-381-9766

SCRIPTURE: To this John replied, “A person can receive only what is given them from heaven…He must become greater; I must become less.” John 3:27-29

THOUGHT: The followers of John the Baptist were concerned for him about Jesus’ rising popularity and whose baptism was better. John’s response comes from a heart that knows who he is in God. He knows his assignment and accepts that he will not be the one to wear the sandals that are for Jesus only. John accepts his limits. There are times we feel like we can do so much more, but we are limited human beings, meant to receive only what is given us from heaven. Nothing less. Nothing more.

PRAYER: Lord, help me to see what You have given me from heaven. When my drive to do more kicks in, please show me what is just me and what is You. Help me to accept that You have created me as a human BEing, not a human DOing. Remind me that You are more concerned about Your work IN me that in what I do FOR You. I place my trust in You again today, knowing that Your heart for me is good, true and faithful.
